Want to drink like a champion? Check out the wine I’m drinking while writing for Vino Ramblings.
Wine: Clemente VII
Grape: Sangiovese (Chianti Classico)
Description: Medium bodied, firm tannin. Hints of tart cherry and ripe plum with a nose like chocolate covered cherry’s.
Pairing: Beef, game, pork. This is my pizza roll wine.
Wine: Astoria il Puro Merlot
Region: Venezia, North Eastern Italy
Description: Very light, smooth and full of fruits. Strong strawberry and cherry flavors. This is a table wine, so the complexity is next to none. The bottle is also completely in Italian so I may or may not have no idea if the above information is correct.
Wine: Lodola Nuova: Rosso di Montepulciano
Grape: 85% Prugnolo Gentile, 10% Merlot e 5% Cabernet Sauvignon
Region: Pontassieve, Italy
Description: I drank this all in one sitting, I have no idea what it actually tastes like. It’s red. The bottle says it has “an intense, fruity bouquet and a well balanced, smooth and long-lingering taste.”
Wine: Collio Pinot Grigio
Grape: Pinot Grigio
Region: Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy
Description: I hate white wine, but it’s hotter than a whore in church these days so I needed something cold that went well with cilantro-lime cream chicken. I’m not sure this wine was it, but it’s fermented. It’s light and crisp and hardly tastes like anything, so it’s great for people who have no wine pallet.
